On The Verge of History

There is very wide speculation that Tuesday, June 3rd will be a day for the history books. According to a number of articles out there, Sen. Barack Obama will stand in the arena in St. Paul that the Republicans have chosen as their hallowed ground and declare victory in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. In doing so, he will become the first African American to become the presidential nominee for one of the major parties.

What has been most exciting about this process is seeing the signs that Hillary is about to concede:

Need more proof? Here is a video of Bill Clinton getting all nostalgic like the party is over:

And the big give away? Huffington Post is reporting that Hillary will give a "major speech" in NYC Tuesday and, even more telling, she has recalled her advance team to let them know their roll with the campaign has ended.

This means no more campaign events...yeah...presumably no more speeches or Puerto Rican caravans or Bill Clinton country side shows.

Yours truly plans to head the Xcel Center Tuesday and see what's going down.

More to come!

So I am copying Katie....

Ok, so I am making a second attempt to start a blog....I am not afraid to admit that I am shamelessly following in the foot steps of my brilliant roommate Katie. She's not only positive and bossy, but also a trendsetter when it comes to shaping the culture of our house. Beyond that, I would like a place to externally process and share my thoughts as well as distract me from the more dull compulsions in my life such as video games and Wikipedia.

So, here I am. Besides, this is a great way to share my ultimately inconsequential though hopefully sometimes amusing or intriguing thoughts about life, liberty, and the pursuit.

Some topics I will try to cover:
  • Politics (one of my first loves and passions)
  • Faith (another of my first loves)
  • Race and Racial Reconciliation (my cross to bear)
  • The Human Condition (something I muse about perhaps too much)

While the above are my main topics of interest, I will likely cover:

  • Life in Minneapolis-St. Paul (my adopted home and two favorite cities)
  • Life Living with Four Women (the white sisters I never had but kinda always wanted)
  • My Occassional Travels (both past and future)
  • Urban Planning (what it seems God has shaped me take up as a vocation)
  • Movies (yet another thing I love)
  • Food and Cooking (another of my first loves...yeah I love a lot of things)

So I may stray from this stuff from time to time, but these two lists should cover it. I hope people out there find something thought provoking on here from time to time. Please feel free to past your thoughts.
